Giving

Anyone can give any amount. The Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation accepts gifts to the permanent endowment fund from individuals, families, organizations, private foundations, and businesses in the form of:

• One time cash or cheque gifts
• Cash pledges over a number of years
• Stocks or bonds
• Property
• Bequests in wills [Download Bequest form]
• Stocks, bonds or mutual fund certificates or through electronic share transfer [Download Transfer form]
• Life insurance
• Memorial gifts
• Transfers of existing trust funds

The Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation is a permanent community endowment fund that grows through your support and provides funding to local non-profit charitable organizations. When you give to the endowment, you are helping to meet the needs of our community today, and for years to come. Your gift supports the Saanich Peninsula in perpetuity.

Your donation is invested in an endowment fund. We are grateful for the long association that we have with the Victoria Foundation where our initial endowment fund is held. Both funds – the principal – are set aside and permanently held. Only the returns from the funds are spent, not the principal that anchors the endowment. A Board of respected volunteers dedicated to Saanich Peninsula initiatives governs the Foundation.

The grants are disbursed on an annual basis. Grants from these funds support a wide range of community endeavours on the Saanich Peninsula including:

• welfare
• culture
• environment
• health & recreation
