Remembering Clive

Clive Tanner (1934-2022)

Clive Tanner was an action-oriented visionary with a quick and humorous wit, a broad smile and a generosity of spirit that was infectious. He was passionate about Sidney and the Saanich Peninsula and for more than 40 years contributed his ideas, energy, and creativity to fostering the growth and sustainability of local organizations. As part of this passion, he was the driving force behind the establishment of the Saanich Peninsula Community Foundation (SPCF), which, through donations, awards grants to local organizations in the areas of health and social services, arts and culture, education, conservation and recreation. Clive believed that through the SPCF, community organizations could be supported to thrive for generations to come.

To honour Clive and keep his vision for the Peninsula alive and well, the SPCF is launching a “Remembering Clive” fund-raising campaign with the goal of raising $250,000, monies which will be invested and returned to the community in the form of grants to Peninsula charitable organizations. All contributions will help the SPCF to support Clive’s vision for our community and positively impact the lives of current and future Peninsula residents.

Put your dollars to work to leave a personal legacy to sustain and enhance our beautiful community and honour Clive’s enormous contribution to the Saanich Peninsula!
